Multiplier Event in Greece – Metropolitan College (25 June 2024)
Up-Sailing Greek Multiplier Event (ME) was held on the 25th of June 2024 in Metropolitan College’s Maritime Academy premises in Piraeus, Attica.
Inviting the Academy’s learners of all grades to attend the event, we were able to establish a vivid dialogue between the current and future professionals and experts in the field, presenting also the key results of the project and the importance of the introduction of green skills in both the maritime Curricula and respective lifelong learning seminars.
The event was attended by 59 participants in total, who were especially impressed by the introduction of a new Green Skills Chart and the development of a Curriculum that targets the 3 main stakeholder groups of the maritime industry: VET Providers (learners and teachers), current professionals and shipowners.
This joint approach that explores the importance of green skills from different perspectives, aiming to set the ground for more efficient strategies, attracted the participants’ interest the most.
One of the key highlights of the event was the speech of Mr. Apostolos Letsios, Programme Leader and BEng (Hons) Marine Engineering and Management, who described his experience and key takeaways from his participation in Up-Sailing Joint Staff Training Activity.
